"Gotta love that new house smell"

Films: Burnt Offerings (1976)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average mansion.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Before Amityville, this house was doing it like a pro. Whether it's terrifying hallucinations and/or actual murder, there’s no guarantee of checking out ever.

History: For centuries, the Allardyce House has stood, almost as if nothing could cause it to decay. Its halls are lined with the paintings of those who have occupied it. But how is it this pristine all the time? Simple. Anyone who lives in it is bound by its spirit. An injury for one is a healing for the house. And it will make sure that you get hurt for its sake.

Notable Kills: Knocks a kid into the ground with a falling chimney.

Final Fate: The most recent family that occupies this house is killed off in one fell swoop by the house, and the mother becomes the new host to it all. The victims are immortalized in the paintings.

Powers/Abilities: Heals from human pain, induces visions of fright, can manipulate itself to kill, can possess the matriarch of a family to stay forever

Weakness: None.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-Do NOT go into this house. It cannot be destroyed, it actively hates all of its occupants, and will destroy you if it means complete immortality.

Trivia: -The house used for this film was the Dunsmuir House in California. Don't worry, it's not actually haunted.

-That creepy as all Hell chauffeur in the film? That was a product of producer Dan Curtis' past trauma, in which he saw a laughing chauffeur at his own mother's funeral.

The internet history of the owner, specifically.

He just figured out his role in the film.

They all met on the day that the evil took over the rent.

Somebody introduce Graboids to the area.

Who wouldn't trust a face like that?
That demon must love setting up banana peels.

Full circle, everyone.
My innocence certainly was traumatized by this freaking house.

See? Banana peels. Or posessed women, give or take.
